The project

Steel Coffin is a third-person arena shooter developed as a seven-week student project at Yrgo Game Creator in Gothenburg, Sweden. In the game, players pilot a massive mech across a frozen, post-apocalyptic cityscape, battling waves of enemies. Built in Unreal Engine, the project showcases the collaborative efforts of eight students in programming, art, music, and voice acting.

Renck Productions contributed to the project by providing the voice for the mech, adding depth and immersion to the gameplay experience.

About Yrgo Game Creators

Yrgo Game Creator is a higher vocational education program based in Gothenburg, Sweden, offering two specialized tracks: Game Creator Artist and Game Creator Programmer. The program emphasizes hands-on learning, where students collaborate on game projects using industry-standard tools like Unity and Unreal Engine. Notably, Yrgo has earned recognition in the Swedish game development scene, with student projects winning awards such as “Game of the Year” at the Swedish Game Awards in 2021 and 2023.
